The foam producer from Bjelavići

PLAMA-PUR BH d.o.o. was founded as a 50/50 joint venture with Plama-pur d.d. of Podgrad, Slovenia - a company making polyurethane foam since the middle of the last century and the first in the former Yugoslavia.

That structure is not a formality. It means Kakanj hosts production rather than an agency, with formulations and experience carried over from a plant that has made foam for decades. A customer in BiH gets material made here, backed by technical knowledge built in Slovenia.

The plant is in Bjelavići near Kakanj. Foam is made in batches, in a mould: a measured mix is poured into a large rectangular box, the exothermic reaction raises it to the top and it cures there. Mixing is low-pressure.

The advantage of this process is flexibility - a change of formulation means a different batch, not stopping an entire line. For a range of 28 articles in various colours and densities, that difference matters.

The site has its own TDI storage and operates under the Seveso regime. Capacity and headcount figures are available on request.

This distinction is not marketing. It has three practical consequences for a buyer:

• Technical data comes from our own batch, not from someone else's catalogue. When you ask about hardness, the answer refers to the material you will receive.
• The formulation is our decision, so density and hardness can be adapted to the requirement instead of you picking the closest thing on offer.
• Lead time does not depend on someone else's warehouse. The block is planned and made here.

The range comprises five foam families - PN standard, PT firm, PP extra firm, HR high-resilience and PE for special purposes - across 28 articles, with densities from 18 to 40 kg/m³.
